The Daily Nole — March 18, 2021: FSU Men’s Golf Wins Valspar Collegiate

Lead Story

Florida State men’s golf, No. 1 according to Golfstat, continued its hot start in Palm City. The Seminoles rallied on the final day of the Valspar Collegiate on Tuesday for their third win in five tournaments.

After one day of action, FSU was three strokes back of leader SMU. When all was said and done, the Seminoles finished at -21. That was four strokes better than second-place Wake Forest.

Wake Forest’s Alex Fitzpatrick took the individual title at -12, but three Seminoles finished in the top 11. Frederik Kjettrup shot -9 to finish second for FSU. John Pak and Brett Roberts finished seventh and 11th, respectively.

Up next for FSU will be a trip to Ponte Verde for The Hayt on March 28 and 29.

FSU swimming and diving opened the NCAA Championships on Wednesday.
