Lead Story

After an unusual season, Florida State women’s hoops finds itself in the NCAA Tournament yet again.

The Seminoles earned the No. 9 seed in the Hemisfair Region on Monday night. FSU will go on to face No. 8 seed Oregon State with the winner to face either No. 16 seed Mercer or No. 1 overall seed South Carolina.

At 10-8 for the season, FSU entered Monday night projected in the field of 64, but on the bubble. FSU has not missed the NCAA Tournament since the 2011-12 season.

The Seminoles and Beavers will square off in San Marcos, Tex. on Sunday evening. The contest begins at 7:30 p.m. ET and airs on ESPN2.

Between the Lines

The FSU women finished 16th on Monday at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. On the men’s side, FSU’s Adriaan Wildschutt finished as national runner-up to BYU’s Conner Mantz. Through one round at the Valspar Collegiate, FSU men’s golf is in second place.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s golf wraps up the Valspar Collegiate on Tuesday. FSU baseball hosts Florida. That contest begins at 7 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network.

FSU hoops is now No. 14 in both the AP and Amway Coaches Polls.

FSU hoops is listed as an 11.5-point favorite over UNC Greensboro in the NCAA Tournament.
