It’s Thursday, Florida State fans.

As that weekend nears, check out our daily rundown.

Florida State softball was scheduled to open its season on Thursday. Instead, it will open the season on Friday.

Thursday’s scheduled contest with Florida A&M as part of the JoAnne Graf Classic was postponed as a result of a positive COVID-19 test within the Rattlers’ program. Now, FSU will open the season on Friday with games against Memphis and Missouri.

FSU was 17-7 last season before the pandemic hit, including 7-0 at home. Despite the postponement, FSU will play four games as part of the JoAnne Graf Classic in Tallahassee.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s basketball will host Syracuse on Thursday night. The contest begins at 8 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network.

FSU men’s golf’s Vincent Norrman has been named a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award Golfer of the Month for January.

Florida State junior Adriaan Wildschutt was named the ACC Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week.

FSU soccer’s Jaelin Howell was named the 2021 Sportswomen of Colorado award winner for soccer.

Former FSU running back Leon Washington has landed a job with the NFL’s New York Jets as a special teams assistant.
