Lead Story

The ACC coaches made their softball projections on Thursday and Florida State is again expected to reign supreme.

FSU was picked to win the conference, receiving nine of 13 first-place votes. Virginia Tech received the other four.

FSU also placed more players on the preseason All-ACC team than any other school with four. Infielder Sydney Sherrill, outfield Dani Morgan, catcher Anna Shelnutt and pitcher Caylan Arnold all made the list.

FSU had won the ACC title in each of the last six years prior to the abrupt ending to last season. The Seminoles open the season on Feb. 11 vs. Florida A&M.

Between the Lines

FSU track and field kicked off the Bob Pollock meet with five wins on Friday. FSU swimming and diving took on Miami and Georgia Tech in a diving only competition.

On the Agenda

FSU track and field and swimming and diving will finish up their events on Saturday. FSU basketball visits Georgia Tech. That contest begins at 4 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network. FSU women’s tennis will host Old Dominion.

FSU basketball is listed as a 4-point favorite over Georgia Tech.

Florida State women’s tennis’ match with Troy for Saturday was postponed.

FSU baseball has added a game against Florida Gulf Coast for May 11.
