The Daily Nole — Jan. 25, 2021: Former FSU DT Nnadi Headed Back to Super Bowl

Florida State will be represented in Super Bowl LV in Tampa on Feb. 7.

For the second straight year, Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi will be playing in the Super Bowl. A third-year player for the Chiefs, Nnadi tallied four tackles on Sunday as Kansas City topped the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship, 38-24.

A native of Virginia Beach, Nnadi spent four years at FSU where he tallied 11.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss. Nnadi was a 3-time All-ACC performer, including being named a first-teamer by the coaches in 2017.

Picked in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Chiefs, Nnadi has played in 47 of 48 regular-season games for the Chiefs. This past season, Nnadi tallied 47 total tackles. After beating the San Francisco 49ers last year, the Chiefs will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s tennis wrapped up the FSU Invitational on Sunday. The FSU men were blanked by Georgia, 7-0. FSU women’s hoops fell at Georgia Tech, 66-58.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s golf will begin the Timuquana Collegiate on Monday.

FSU baseball was ranked No. 8 in the preseason Baseball America Poll.

The men’s basketball AP and Amway Coaches Polls will be unveiled on Monday.
