The Daily Nole — Jan. 19, 2021: FSU Handles Louisville on the Road, 78-65

Fresh off two impressive home wins, Florida State picked up its first road victory of the season on Monday night. The Seminoles visited Louisville and handled the Cardinals, 78-65.

FSU led by as many as 24 points in the first half and saw that lead fall to single digits just once. As a team, FSU shot 50% from the field and a solid 9-for-21 from deep.

Two days after recording a career-scoring high against North Carolina, RaiQuan Gray paced FSU with 17 points and eight rebounds. Wyatt Wilkes finished with 13 points in the win. Malik Osborne, RayQuan Evans and Scottie Barnes added 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively. Leading scorer M.J. Walker was held to two points, but tallied a career-high 10 assists.

Senior Carlik Jones led Louisville with 17 points. David Johnson added 15 points in the loss.

Monday’s win was FSU’s second straight 78-65 victory at Louisville and fourth straight overall against the Cardinals. With the win, FSU improves to 8-2 and 4-1 in ACC play.

In addition to FSU basketball, FSU men’s golf moved into second place on Monday at the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational on Monday.
