As you get ready for the holidays, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

It wasn’t a season to remember for Florida State football, but two Seminoles whose seasons were cut short were recognized as All-ACC performers on Tuesday.

Cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. was named first-team All-ACC and received more votes than any other defensive player. In eight games, Samuel led the team with three interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries. In the season opener against Georgia Tech, Samuel became the first FSU player to record multiple interceptions in a game since Levonta Taylor did so against Florida in 2017.

Defensive tackle Marvin Wilson earned second-team honors. Wilson’s season was cut short by injury, but he tallied 17 tackles, including two for loss. He also led the nation with three blocked kicks.

Wilson was a first-team selection by the ACC last season. Both players have declared for the 2021 NFL Draft.
