The Daily Nole — Dec. 19, 2020: 4-Star McClain Signs with FSU

It’s the weekend, Florida State fans.

Although there’s no FSU football this weekend, there is FSU sports. Check out our daily rundown.

For the second time during the Early Signing Period, Florida State added a previously uncommitted player to its 2021 class. This time, it came in the form of a player once committed to the Seminoles.

4-star wide receiver Malik McClain decommitted from FSU on Dec. 7. On Friday, he re-pledged his services and ultimately signed with the Seminoles.

Out of IMG Academy, McClain is ranked as the No. 43 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 266 overall recruit, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Of 17 commitments, McClain is the 16th to sign with FSU. McClain is listed at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. With the addition, FSU moves up nine spots in the team rankings to No. 22, per the Composite.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Friday.

On the Agenda

FSU basketball will host UCF on Saturday night. The contest begins at 9 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network. FSU football was set to visit Wake Forest, but the contest was canceled.

News and Notes

FSU football defensive lineman Marvin Wilson will declare for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Tight end Camren McDonald will return to FSU in 2021.

FSU football announced its season was over on Friday.
