The Daily Nole — Dec. 17, 2020: FSU Adds DE Wilson on First Day of Early Signing Period

Lead Story

The Early Signing Period started with a bang for Florida State football on Wednesday.

The Seminoles had no decommitments, signed 14 of its 15 commitments, UCF transfer McKenzie Milton and added a top-400 player to the mix. 3-star defensive end George Wilson, a former South Carolina commit, signed with FSU on Wednesday.

A native of Virginia Beach, Wilson is listed at 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds. He is the 24th best player in Virginia and No. 365 overall for 2021, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

With the addition of Wilson, FSU has 16 commitments with 15 of those signed. The Seminoles moved up three spots in the team rankings to No. 31, according to the Composite.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s hoops will visit Clemson on Wednesday night. The contest is set to tip at 7 p.m. ET and will stream on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

Florida basketball forward Keyontae Johnson, who collapsed in Saturday’s game against FSU, is reportedly stable and talking.

Former FSU commitment and current wide receiver target Malik McClain will commit at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.
