The Daily Nole — Dec. 12, 2020: FSU Looks to Preserve Winning Streaks vs. Duke, Florida

The weekend has arrived, Florida State fans.

As you prepare to watch the Seminoles in action, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Florida State men’s teams will look to preserve a couple of lengthy winning streaks over opponents. One is a rival. The other used to be the ACC’s doormat.

To kick off the day, No. 20 FSU basketball will take on rival Florida. The Seminoles have won six straight over the Gators, including a 63-51 victory last season in Gainesville.

FSU’s first three wins during the streak all came by five points or less. The last three have all been decided by double-digits.

On the gridiron, Florida State will look to make it 21 in a row over Duke. The Seminoles have won all 20 prior meetings against the Blue Devils. Only the most recent contest in 2017 was decided by fewer than 19 points.

The hoops contest tips early at 11 a.m. ET and airs on ESPNU. The football contest is set for 4 p.m. ET. It will air on ACC Network.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Friday.

On the Agenda

The aforementioned contests with Florida and Duke are the only two FSU athletic events scheduled for Saturday.
