Florida State athletics

We’ve been away for a while, but now we’re back!

To try to catch you — and us — up on everything Florida State-related over the last week, here is the latest rundown. Check it out.

Lead Story

Unfortunately, Florida State’s men’s basketball team hasn’t seen much action this season. That will change on Wednesday night.

No. 20 FSU will host Indiana in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Hoosiers handed FSU its only loss of the non-conference last season with a 80-64 victory in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Bloomington. Devonte Green scored a career-high 30 points to pace Indiana in that one.

Trayce Jackson-Davis is the guy to watch for Indiana this season. Through four games, he’s averaging 21.5 points and seven rebounds. Indiana will arrive in Tallahassee with a record of 3-1.

FSU has played just one game thus far this season — an 86-58 win over North Florida. M.J. Walker paced FSU with 17 points while Balsa Koprivica added 13 points. Freshman Scottie Barnes finished with eight points, six rebounds and six assists in his anticipated debut.

Florida State hasn’t lost at home in nearly two years. Wednesday’s contest begins at 7:15 p.m. ET and will air on ESPNU.

Between the Lines

FSU’s basketball victory over North Florida last Wednesday is the lone athletic contest that has taken place in the last week for FSU. Sunday’s women’s hoops contest with Austin Peay was postponed.

On the Agenda

FSU’s contest with Indiana is the lone scheduled athletic event for Wednesday.
