The Daily Nole — Nov. 12, 2020: FSU Hoops Picked Third in ACC

After winning just the second ACC title in program history last season, Florida State has higher expectations than usual entering the 2020-21 season.

The Seminoles were picked by the media to finish third in the ACC on Wednesday behind only Virginia and Duke. FSU received 15 of 155 first-place votes.

FSU loses its top two scorers from last season in Trent Forrest and Devin Vassell, but returns M.J. Walker and brings in an outstanding recruiting class headlined by Scottie Barnes.

Barnes was named preseason first-team All-ACC. Walker was named to the second team. Barnes was also named preseason ACC Freshman of the Year.

News and Notes

FSU women’s hoops has completed its 2020-21 schedule.

Forward Makayla Timpson has signed her National Letter of Intent to play for FSU women’s hoops.

Jalen Warley and John Butler have signed their National Letters of Intent to play for FSU basketball.

FSU defensive tackle Marvin Wilson will miss the remainder of the season with a leg injury.

Wide receiver Tamorrion Terry announced on social media that he is no longer with the FSU football team.

FSU offensive lineman Devontay Love-Taylor is out for the rest of the year with a knee injury.

Florida State defensive lineman Jarrett Jackson was granted a waiver. The Louisville transfer will be eligible immediately.

FSU defensive back Isaiah Bolden announced on social media that he will transfer to Jackson State.

FSU quarterback James Blackman will transfer.
