It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans.

In what should be a busier than usual week, we catch you up on the latest in FSU athletics. Below is our daily rundown.

Lead Story

After its highest final ranking ever last season, Florida State men’s basketball will begin the 2020-21 season ranked in the top 25.

In the preseason AP Poll, FSU found itself ranked No. 21. Last season, the Seminoles won their first ACC regular season title and were awarded a second conference championship after the ACC Tournament was called due to COVID-19 precautions.

FSU is losing some key pieces to include Trent Forrest, Devin Vassell and Patrick Williams, but returns third-leading scorer M.J. Walker. Head coach Leonard Hamilton also brings in an outstanding recruiting class headlined by former 5-star prospect Scottie Barnes.

FSU was among four ACC teams ranked in the top 25. A finalized schedule has not yet been set.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

On the Agenda

FSU soccer will be in Cary, North Carolina to open the ACC Tournament. The Seminoles will face Notre Dame on Tuesday. The contest begins at 12:30 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network.

News and Notes

FSU women’s hoops guard Tiana England was named to the preseason Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award watch list.

FSU’s football contest with Clemson on Nov. 21 will begin at 12 p.m. ET and air on ABC.

Marvin Wilson was among the FSU players not listed on this week’s depth chart.
