All attention turned to decisive Court 5 in Cary, North Carolina on Saturday, but in the end, second-seeded Duke found a way to top third-seeded Florida State in the ACC Women’s Tennis Tournament semifinals, 4-3.

With the contest knotted 3-3, Duke’s Ellyse Hamlin ended the match with a straight-set, 6-3, 7-6 win over FSU’s Nandini Das. FSU won three of the six singles duals, but Duke (23-2) winning the doubles point was the difference.

Carla Touly and Petra Hule each won duals in straight sets for the Seminoles (20-6). Emmanuelle Salas needed three sets to beat Duke’s Meible Chi, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2.

The Blue Devils will advance to face rival North Carolina in the ACC Championship on Sunday. The Tar Heels topped Miami, 4-0, in the other semifinal on Saturday.
