Florida State beach volleyball has clinched a spot in the CCSA Tournament quarterfinals in Emerson, Georgia.

FSU took care of business in group play on Friday with shutout wins over Southern Mississippi and College of Charleston.

The day started for top-seeded FSU with an easy victory over No. 12 seed Southern Mississippi on Friday, 5-0. The Seminoles won every set while the Golden Eagles did not score more than 17 points in any set.

FSU also ran the table in the second match with College of Charleston. The Cougars scored as many as 19 in the first set, but FSU’s Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick were too much for the College of Charleston tandem of Kennedy Madison and Lauren Freed on Court 1.

The eighth-seeded Cougars did not score more than 16 points in any other set. FSU will play in the CCSA Quarterfinals on Saturday.
