Five FSU Teams Begin Conference Tournaments This Week

There are nine Florida State athletic teams still competing this academic year, but five of them will begin their conference tournaments this week.

Before action gets underway for one team on Thursday, here’s brief look at what’s ahead for each FSU program as they aim to own the title of conference champions:

FSU beach volleyball
CCSA Tournament Seed: No. 1
CCSA Tournament Dates: Friday through Sunday
Opponent(s): Southern Miss (Friday at 9 a.m. EST), College of Charleston (Friday at 3 p.m. EST)
Key Players: Macy Jerger, Sara Putt, Madison Fitzpatrick
Overview: Florida State aims for its fourth straight CCSA title in Emerson, Georgia over the weekend. The Seminoles are 17-0 all-time in the CCSA Tournament. The only CCSA team to beat the Seminoles during the regular season was LSU in the season opener, but FSU was able to get the better of the Tigers to open the month of March. FSU is 23-5 for the year.

FSU men’s golf
ACC Tournament Seed: No. 8
ACC Tournament Dates: Thursday through Saturday
Opponents: Paired with NC State, Virginia
Key Players: John Pak, Jamie Li, Bennett Baker
Overview: FSU men’s golf will be the No. 8 seed in the ACC Tournament and will be paired with NC State and Virginia in New London, North Carolina. FSU won a pair of tournaments in February and finished in the top five on five occasions in nine tournaments.

FSU women’s golf
ACC Tournament Seed: No. 3
ACC Tournament Dates: Thursday through Saturday
Opponents: Paired with Duke, Wake Forest
Key Players: Frida Kinhult, Amanda Doherty, Beatrice Wallin
Overview: Florida State will be the No. 3 seed heading to Greensboro for the conference tournament. FSU won two of nine tournaments this season and finished in the top five on five occasions. Freshman Frida Kinhult has a pair of individual titles.

FSU men’s tennis
ACC Tournament Seed: No. 7
ACC Tournament Dates: Wednesday through Sunday
Opponents: Duke (Thursday at 11:30 a.m. EST)
Key Players: Lucas Poullain, Alex Knaff, Sebastian Arcila
Overview: FSU finished the regular season with a record of 17-9, but was just 6-6 in ACC play. The Seminoles open the ACC Tournament against a Duke team that they defeated 4-3 in Durham to conclude the regular season. The winner will face No. 2 seed Virginia.

FSU women’s tennis
ACC Tournament Seed: No. 3
ACC Tournament Dates: Wednesday through Sunday
Opponents: Wake Forest, Boston College or Louisville (Friday at 5 p.m. EST)
Key Players: Nandini Das, Andrea Garcia, Ana Oparenovic
Overview: Florida State will be the No. 3 seed in Cary after finishing 19-5 and 11-3 in ACC play. Duke and North Carolina are the top two seeds in the ACC Tournament. Those two and Syracuse were the only ACC teams to top the Seminoles during the regular season.
