The Daily Nole — April 13, 2019: FSU Beach Volleyball Goes 3-0 in Fort Worth

Lead Story

Florida State beach volleyball wrapped up the regular season on Friday with a 3-0 day in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Seminoles opened things with 5-0 wins over UAB and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before a 4-1 victory over host TCU. FSU duos of Molly McBain and Payton Caffrey and Sara Putt and Payton Rund didn’t lose a single set the entire day.

With the 3-0 day, FSU improved to 23-5 for the season. The Seminoles will begin the CCSA Tournament next Friday.

Between the Lines

In addition to beach volleyball, FSU baseball defeated Clemson on Friday night at Dick Hoswer Stadium, 6-2. FSU track and field wrapped up the Crimson Tide Invitational. FSU men’s tennis fell to Wake Forest, 4-0.

Between the Lines

FSU baseball will continue its series against Clemson on Saturday at 2 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. FSU softball will be at North Carolina at 1 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. FSU women’s tennis wraps up the regular season at home against Louisville.

News and Notes

C.J. Van Eyk will be the starting pitcher for FSU against Clemson on Saturday.

FSU baseball defeated Clemson 16-2 on Saturday at Dick Howser Stadium.
