Parrish, Mendoza Lead FSU Past Clemson, 6-2

Florida State evened its record in ACC play on Friday night at Dick Howser Stadium behind an outstanding pitching performance by starting pitcher Drew Parrish in a 6-2 victory over Clemson.

Parrish worked eight shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out 12. The Seminoles (20-13) took control with four runs in the third inning. After an Alec Sanchez sacrifice fly opened the scoring, Drew Mendoza blasted a 3-run home run.

Clemson (25-9) broke up the shutout with two runs in the ninth inning. J.C. Flowers came in and retired the only batter he faced to earn the save for the Seminoles.
