The Daily Nole — April 10, 2019: FSU’s Burns Invited to NFL Draft

Lead Story

23 prospects will be in Nashville for the 2019 NFL Draft later this month and among them is Florida State defensive end Brian Burns.

A native of South Florida, Burns was the unquestioned leader of the FSU defense in 2018. Burns finished his junior season with 10 sacks, 15.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles.

Burns hopes to become the third FSU defensive player selected in the first round in four years. FSU has had at least one player selected in the first round in seven of the last nine drafts.

Between the Lines

FSU baseball fell at home to rival Florida on Tuesday night, 3-1. The final round of the Clemson Invitational was canceled for FSU women’s golf.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

After Tuesday’s cancellation, FSU women’s golf finishes eighth at the Clemson Invitational.

FSU softball remained No. 3 in the NFCA Coaches Poll.
