The Daily Nole — March 26, 2019: FSU Women’s Golf Wins at Auburn

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. As your week chugs along, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State women’s golf has played a pair of tournaments this month. They’ve now won them both.

FSU started the final round of the Evans Derby Experience in Alabama in fourth place on Monday, but rallied to win the tournament. The Seminoles had the best day of any team, shooting a 285 or -3 in the final round to finish +6.

That was four strokes ahead of Duke, Texas and Arkansas. FSU’s Beatrice Wallin and Frida Kinhult tied for third place at -1 for the tournament. Kent State’s Karoline Stormo won the individual title at -3.

Up next, FSU begins the Clemson Invitational on April 7.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s golf participated in the only FSU athletic event for Monday.

On the Agenda

FSU baseball will take on Florida on Tuesday night in Jacksonville. Action begins at 6 p.m. EST.

News and Notes

FSU lefty pitcher Jonah Scolaro will make his first career start on Tuesday night.

FSU hoops’ Phil Cofer is not expected to play against Gonzaga in the Sweet 16.

Florida topped FSU baseball on Tuesday night in Jacksonville, 4-2.
