The Daily Nole — March 19, 2019: FSU Women Finish 25th in AP Poll

Lead Story

Although the season didn’t start that way, Florida State women’s basketball will finish the 2018-19 season as a top-25 team.

The final AP Poll was released on Monday, which had the Seminoles holding firm at No. 25. Unlike the USA Today Coaches Poll, the AP Poll does not release a poll at season’s end.

FSU finished 11th in the AP Poll last season and has finished ranked in each of the last five seasons. FSU accomplished the feat this season without a single senior.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s golf finished the Valspar Collegiate Invitational on Monday in ninth place.

On the Agenda

FSU softball will host Florida A&M on Tuesday while FSU baseball hosts UCF. Both contests begin at 6 p.m. EST. The baseball game will air on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

FSU women’s hoops opens the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Columbia against Bucknell.

FSU women’s track and field will begin the outdoor season ranked No. 6 in the USTFCCCA Poll. The men will be No. 11.

Antonio Velez will start for FSU against UCF on Tuesday night.

FSU baseball fell to UCF on Tuesday night in Tallahassee, 9-7.
