Lead Story

From 1-4 in conference to a double-bye to the ACC title game, Florida State basketball will have a chance to claim its second ACC Tournament title on Saturday night against Duke.

The fourth-seeded Seminoles advanced to the title game for the first time since 2012 with a 69-59 victory over top seed Virginia in the ACC semifinals on Friday night in Charlotte. Third-seeded Duke used a basket by Zion Williamson in the final minute to top No. 2 seed North Carolina, 74-73. Williamson finished with 31 points on 13-for-19 shooting and 11 rebounds in Friday’s win over the rival Tar Heels.

Duke topped FSU 80-78 on a late 3-pointer by Cam Reddish when the teams met in Tallahassee back in January. Duke defeated the Seminoles 79-69 in FSU’s first trip to the ACC title game 10 years ago — almost to the date. Saturday’s ACC Championship begins at 8:30 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN.
