Florida State’s seed for the 2019 ACC Tournament in Charlotte was decided on Tuesday. Now, FSU will await an opponent.

The fourth-seeded Seminoles will begin the ACC Tournament on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. EST and there is a very good chance that a recent opponent will again be FSU’s match-up. This past week, FSU defeated Virginia Tech 73-64 in overtime to secure a double-bye and proceeded to rally past Wake Forest on Saturday, 65-57.

Those are two of the three possible foes that the Seminoles will see Thursday in Charlotte. Fifth-seeded Virginia Tech would advance to face FSU with a win on Wednesday. The Hokies will face the winner of Tuesday’s contest between 12th-seeded Miami and No. 13 seed Wake Forest.

FSU swept both the Demon Deacons and Hurricanes this season. Tuesday’s overtime thriller was the only match-up this season with Virginia Tech.

FSU is looking for a second trip to the ACC Tournament semifinals in three seasons. FSU lost its first game to Louisville in last season’s ACC Tournament, marking the first time since 2011 that the Seminoles failed to win a game in the conference tournament. Thursday’s contest will air on ESPN and Raycom Sports Networks.
