Another Saturday, another doubleheader for Florida State baseball.

With the threat of rain destined for the area, Sunday’s finale of a 3-game set with Virginia Tech will be moved up to Saturday. The Seminoles and Hokies will play a doubleheader that day with the first game to start at noon EST.

It will be the third time in four weekend series for FSU that the Seminoles played a doubleheader on Saturday. The doubleheader for the season-opening series against Maine was scheduled, but rain forced FSU and Youngstown State to squeeze a 3-game set into two days the following week.

Rain forced FSU to cancel its first two midweek match-ups of the season with Jacksonville and South Florida. The Seminoles finally played a midweek game on Wednesday night, topping North Florida 4-3 on a walk-off double by Nander De Sedas.

This weekend’s series will be the first ACC games for both teams. FSU is 11-0 on the young season compared to 8-3 for the Hokies. Friday’s contest begins at 6 p.m. EST.
