FSU Men’s Swimming and Diving Claims Top 5 Finish at ACC Championships

FSU athletics

One week after the women finished sixth, Florida State men’s swimming and diving notched a top-5 finish at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, which wrapped up on Saturday.

The Florida State men entered the swimming portion of the ACC Championships in third place after Josh Davidson took silver in the 1-meter dive. The sophomore managed a third place finish in the 3-meter dive in Greensboro last week.

The first FSU medal of the swimming portion was a gold for senior William Pisani in the 50-yard freestyle. Pisani was also part of the ACC title team that won in the 200-yard freestyle relay along with freshman Jakub Ksiazek and fellow seniors Emir Muratovic and Kanoa Kaleoaloha.

That quartet wasn’t done, claiming second behind Louisville in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Kaleoaloha also had a nice individual showing over the 4-day event as he took first place in the 100-yard fly on Friday night. On Saturday night, he claimed gold in the 100-yard freestyle.

NC State claimed the ACC title in front of Louisville, Virginia and Virginia Tech. The NCAA Championships begin on March 27 in Austin.
