Rain Cancels FSU’s Trip to Tampa

Midweek baseball games and Florida State hardly seem like a match made in heaven.

After having two games against Jacksonville postponed last week, FSU’s scheduled Tuesday night contest at South Florida has been canceled, due to inclement weather. It would have been the first meeting between the schools in Tampa since 2016.

The recent rain-outs have postponed the first career starts for FSU pitchers Conor Grady and Antonio Velez. Tuesday’s contest was set to be the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season.

The Seminoles enter a 3-game weekend series still without having played a midweek game. FSU will host Mercer at Dick Howser Stadium, beginning on Friday.
