FSU Swimming and Diving: Women Finish Sixth at ACC Championships

Florida State women’s swimming and diving notched a sixth-place finish in the ACC Championships, which wrapped on Saturday night in Greensboro.

Freshman Nina Kucheran put the exclamation point on the 4-day event on Saturday night with a second-place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke. Kucheran set an FSU record with at time of 2:08.78.

NC State took home the ACC title, followed by Virginia and Louisville. Notre Dame and Duke rounded out the top 5 in front of the Seminoles.

FSU actually held the lead after Wednesday. Junior Molly Carlson took bronze in the 3-meter dive. As a team, the FSU women took third in the 200-yard medley relay.

Ida Hulkko, a senior, took third place for FSU on Friday night in the women’s 100-yard breaststroke finals.

On the men’s side, FSU’s Josh Davidson took silver in the 1-meter dive. The sophomore managed a third place finish in the 3-meter dive.

The FSU men will wrap up the men’s swimming portion of the ACC Championships from Wednesday through next Saturday.

The Florida State qualifying women will begin the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas on March 20.
