Florida State used a pair of 2-run home runs on Friday night to rally past Youngstown State in the first game of a 3-game series at Dick Howser Stadium, 4-2.

The Seminoles (5-0) went ahead for good on a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning by Nander De Sedas. Drew Mendoza tied the game for FSU with a 2-run bomb an inning prior.

Youngstown State (0-4) also used a 2-run home run to account for all its scoring. Blake Glenn’s blast in the top of the first accounted for all the runs until the sixth.

Antonio Velez got the win for FSU, throwing four scoreless innings in relief of starter Drew Parrish. J.C. Flowers worked a scoreless ninth for his first career save after going 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.
