Lead Story

Florida State softball senior outfielder Zoe Casas couldn’t have gotten off to a much better start this season and people are taking notice.

Casas was named both the ACC and USA Softball Player of the Week after her performance over six games at the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational. Over the six games — all FSU victories — Casas hit .556 with 10 hits, including two home runs to go with seven runs scored and six RBIs.

For the season, Casas is hitting .500 with two homers, 12 RBIs and nine runs. Casas was 1-for-3 with an RBI in Wednesday night’s 4-1 win over South Alabama.

Between the Lines

In addition to FSU softball’s 4-1 win over the Jaguars, FSU swimming and diving began the ACC Championships in Greensboro on Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU swimming and diving will continue the ACC Championships on Thursday. FSU track and field will begin the ACC Indoor Championships at Virginia Tech.

News and Notes

FSU swimming and diving currently leads at the ACC Championships.

FSU hoops is currently fourth in the ACC standings.

With Duke’s loss to North Carolina, FSU now has the longest current winning streak among Power 5 programs.

Rather than play games on Saturday and Sunday, FSU baseball will play a doubleheader against Youngstown State on Saturday.
