After winning its first two games by a combined 27-3 margin, Florida State got all in wanted in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Maine, but prevailed in walk-off fashion, 6-5, in a 7-inning game.

J.C. Flowers, who came in to pinch run, scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly from Matheu Nelson. Tyler Ahearn worked a perfect seventh to earn the win for FSU (3-0).

The Seminoles fell behind 5-2 in the fourth inning after Maine’s Jake Roper hit a grand slam off FSU starter Austin Pollock. All five runs for the Black Bears (0-3) came in the inning.

Florida State was able to answer with a run in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI single from Mike Salvatore that scored Cooper Swanson. Nander De Sedas came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Reese Albert in the bottom of the sixth.

The Seminoles drew even an inning later when Robby Martin doubled home Elijah Cabell. Flowers came in to pinch run for Martin, who reached third on a balk, to score the winning run.

Salvatore and Martin each had two hits. Swanson scored a pair of runs in the victory. Catcher Ryan Turenne had two of the five hits for Maine.
