Mike Martin’s final Opening Day as Florida State head coach had an extra “O” in it —- in the Maine hit column.

The Seminoles opened the season by throwing a combined no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Maine at Dick Howser Stadium.

Drew Parrish allowed just a walk in five no-hit innings before Conor Grady came in and worked three no-hit innings. Fresh off Tommy John Surgery, Chase Haney worked a no-hit ninth. It is the first no-hitter for FSU since a 2016 walk-off no-no against Toledo.

At the plate, Robby Martin had a debut to remember for FSU (1-0), going 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs. Reese Albert homered and tripled, finishing with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Mike Salvatore scored three runs for the Seminoles. Drew Mendoza, who got the scoring started with an RBI double, and freshman Nander De Sedas each scored twice. J.C. Flowers also went yard in the victory.

Cody Laweryson took the loss for Maine (0-1). The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday.
