Report: George Campbell to Leave FSU

A Florida State career that never truly blossomed has come to an end.

According to a report from Noles247, wide receiver George Campbell will not return to FSU for a redshirt senior season. Once a 5-star prospect, Campbell’s career in Tallahassee was derailed by injuries. It was previously reported that Campbell would enter the transfer portal.

Campbell finished this past season with four catches for 42 yards. All of his receptions came in two games against Samford and Notre Dame.

Campbell will finish his FSU career with just 13 receptions for 206 yards. His career-day came in the home opener against NC State in 2017 when he caught three passes for 85 yards.

With Campbell’s departure, FSU still has 10 scholarship wide receivers.
