A splendid week on the hardwood led to a notable rise in the polls for Florida State basketball.

The Seminoles moved up five spots in this week’s AP Poll after an 80-62 win over Syracuse and a thrilling 80-75 win over Louisville this past weekend. Previously No. 22, FSU climbed to No. 17 in this week’s poll. The 5-spot jump is the biggest in the AP Poll this week.

Overall, FSU has won five straight ACC games for the first time since the 2011-12 season and sits at 18-5 for the season. The Seminoles are 6-4 in ACC play after a horrid 1-4 start.

Florida State also moves up five spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll to No. 19. FSU was No. 24 in last week’s poll.

FSU will play a pair of games this week. After hosting Wake Forest on Wednesday, the Seminoles will travel to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech on Saturday.
