The Daily Nole — Jan. 6, 2019: McGriff to Join FSU’s Staff

The Florida State coaching staff continues to undergo changes. According to a report from the Tallahassee Democrat, former Ole Miss defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff is expected to join head coach Willie Taggart’s staff.

McGriff was recently fired as defensive coordinator after a dismal defensive season by the Rebels. McGriff is expected to coach defensive backs for the Seminoles — a role previously held by defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett.

Regarded as a great recruiter, McGriff has more than 15 years as an FBS assistant. Previous stops include Auburn, Vanderbilt, Baylor, Miami, Kentucky and the New Orleans Saints of the NFL.

FSU basketball was handled at Virginia on Saturday, 65-52.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s hoops will be at North Carolina on Sunday. That contest begins at 1 p.m. EST and airs on the ACC Network.
