The Daily Nole — Jan. 3, 2019: FSU Out of Athlon’s Way-Too-Early Top 25

It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As your day and week carry on, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post may be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

The 2018 college football season is not yet complete, but Athlon Sports has already released its “Way-Too-Early” top 25 for 2019.

After its worst season since 1975, it’s no surprise that Florida State did not make the list. The Seminoles finished 5-7 this past season and missed a bowl game for the first time since 1981.

The last season that FSU failed to find itself in the AP preseason top 25 was 1982, which followed the last season that the Seminoles did not go bowling prior to 2018. Alabama topped Athlon’s poll, followed by Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s hoops opens ACC play at Virginia on Thursday. The contest begins at 7 p.m. EST and airs on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

4-star wide receiver Arjei Henderson will make his college decision on Thursday.
