Lead Story

Florida State women’s hoops wrapped up non-conference play on Saturday, but the win wasn’t as easy as the final score may indicate.

The Seminoles knocked off Georgia State 79-43 in Tallahassee, but the Panthers actually held a 31-30 lead three minutes into the third quarter. From there, FSU outscored Georgia State 43-12, including 32-5 in the final quarter.

Kiah Gillespie again paced the Seminoles with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Nausia Woolfolk added 14 in the victory. Jada Lewis finished with 15 points, but on just 5-for-16 shooting to lead Georgia State.

FSU improves to 12-1 with the win. The Seminoles open ACC play on Thursday at Virginia.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s hoops was the only scheduled FSU athletic event for Saturday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Sunday.
