The nation’s top basketball recruit has reportedly trimmed his list of schools to five and Leonard Hamilton’s team remains in the mix.

Anthony Edwards, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Atlanta, limited his list of programs considered to Florida State, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina. Edwards is currently ranked as the top overall player by the 247Sports Composite rankings.

FSU currently has five players committed and a class that ranks 14th nationally, according to the Composite. Devin Vassell was the only signing for FSU last cycle.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Friday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s hoops will host Georgia State at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday. The contest airs on ACC Network Extra.

Florida State freshman swimmer Kertu Alnek won seven national titles at the Estonian National Short Course Championships.

The New Year’s Six Bowls, including the College Football Playoff takes place on Saturday.
