Florida State may have been unable to keep Sam Howell during the Early Signing Period last week, but the Seminoles will not go into National Signing Day without a new signal-caller.

According to multiple reports and his Instagram page, Louisville quarterback Jordan Travis will transfer to FSU. As a freshman this past season, Travis went 4-for-14 passing with 71 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Travis was a 3-star prospect in 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite and a top-900 player. At 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, Travis was ranked as the 25th best dual-threat.

FSU played this past season with only two scholarship quarterbacks in Deondre Francois and James Blackman. Francois, a redshirt junior in 2018, has graduated and will have the option of transferring and playing immediately or entering the NFL Draft. Francois could also return to school, but speculation is that he does otherwise.

Travis is the first transfer quarterback to come to FSU since 2015 when Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson came to Tallahassee. Golson was 7-1 in eight starts.
