It’s Christmas Eve, Florida State fans. As you get set to enjoy time with family, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Former Houston offensive coordinator Kendal Briles doesn’t appear to be the only assistant bringing his talents from the Lone Star State to Tallahassee.

According to reports, offensive line coach Randy Clements will be joining Briles and head coach Willie Taggart’s staff at Florida State. Like Briles, Clements had previously coached at Baylor.

What that means for current FSU offensive line coach Greg Frey is unclear. Some reports have suggested that both will coach the line with one focusing on the interior guards and center and the other on tackles. FSU’s offensive line was the single-biggest sore spot in 2018.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Sunday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

Florida State moved up two spots in this week’s AP Poll to No. 9. FSU is up three spots to No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
