The Daily Nole – Dec. 20, 2018: FSU Inks 14 on Early Signing Day

On the first day of the Early Signing Period, Florida State was able to sign 14 of its now 19 committed prospects. That includes two new 3-star prospects from Miami Carol City in defensive tackle Malcolm Ray and cornerback Jarvis Brownlee.

The Seminoles also added 4-star safety Raymond Woodie III, who is the son of FSU linebackers coach Raymond Woodie, Jr. FSU lost a pair of 4-star prospects in defensive tackle Derick Hunter, who flipped to Texas A&M and quarterback Sam Howell, who flipped to North Carolina.

Also signing with FSU on Wednesday were 4-star guard Dontae Lucas, linebackers Jaleel McRae and Kalen DeLoach, defensive end Curtis Fann, 3-star receiver Maurice Goolsby, defensive end Derrick McLendon, cornerback Renardo Green, defensive tackle Tru Thompson, linebacker Kevon Glenn, tackle Jay Williams and guard Maurice Smith. The Early Signing Period lasts through Friday. FSU currently ranks No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

FSU hoops defeated North Florida on Wednesday night in Tallahassee, 95-81.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s hoops will play at Milwaukee at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday night.

FSU quarterback Deondre Francois refuted an Orlando Sentinel report that said he would not return to Florida State in 2019.

4-star guard Will Putnam will announce his college decision at 1 p.m. EST.
