Lead Story

Last season’s leading scorer for Florida State’s men’s basketball team is reportedly expected to make his 2018-19 debut on Monday against Southeast Missouri State.

According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, redshirt senior forward Phil Cofer will likely play for the Seminoles on Monday night. Cofer averaged 12.8 points per game last season, but suffered a preseason foot injury and has yet to appear in a game.

After last season’s run to the Elite Eight, many were unsure if Cofer would be able to return for the 2018-19 season. Cofer was a senior last season, but was issued a medical redshirt for playing in just 11 games before an injury ended his 2015-16 sophomore campaign.
