The Daily Nole — Dec. 11, 2018: FSU Women’s Hoops Outside AP Top 25

There are five ACC women’s basketball teams ranked in the AP top 25. Despite being 9-1, Florida State is not among them.

With 22, FSU had the third-highest vote total among unranked teams on Monday when the poll was unveiled. The Seminoles are coming off a road win over St. John’s and a hard-fought victory at Mercer over the last week.

The schedule hasn’t been particularly daunting but eight of the top 25 teams have more than one loss, including No. 16 Iowa, which FSU defeated on a neutral court in the Junkanoo Jam. FSU won’t play again until hosting Creighton on Sunday.
