It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. As your day and week go on, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Last offseason, Florida State had its first true search for a head football coach in more than four decades. Now, it will be looking for a new offensive coordinator.

The Seminoles will be looking to replace Walt Bell, who will leave to become head coach at Massachusetts. Among the potential replacements is former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze, per multiple reports.

After going 10-2 at Arkansas State in 2011, Freeze spent five seasons as head coach at Ole Miss, compiling a 39-25 record and two New Year’s Six Bowl appearances. Freeze left after the 2016 after a scandal involving a “pattern of calls” made to an escort service. Freeze is also reportedly being considered for the head coaching job at Liberty.

Between the Lines

FSU basketball defeated Troy on Monday night at home, 83-67.
