The Daily Nole — Dec. 1, 2018: FSU Soccer Trio Named All-Americans

Lead Story

Florida State soccer is bound for the national championship match and it’s not hard to understand why.

Earlier this week, three Seminoles were named All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches. Junior forward Deyna Castellanos and freshman Yujie Zhao, the team’s top two scorers, were each named second-team All-Americans. Castellanos leads the Seminoles this season with 27 points and 10 goals while Zhao, the ACC Freshman of the Year, has 19 points.

Natalia Kuikka, a senior defender, earned third-team honors. Kuikka finished with two goals and five points this season. FSU faces North Carolina for the national championship on Sunday.

Between the Lines

FSU soccer defeated Stanford in the College Cup on Friday night, 2-0.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Saturday.
