The 2018 season ended in disappointment for Florida State. The Seminoles watched streaks of 36 straight bowl appearances, 41 straight winning seasons and five straight wins over Florida come crashing down at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday.

FSU was defeated 41-14 by the No. 11 Gators in what will be the final game of 2018. Still, there were some individual performances worth recognizing. In what will be our final installment for the year, editor Mike Ferguson and lead writer Clint Eiland hand out game balls for the top-performing Seminoles:

Offense

Unanimous Game Ball: Jacques Patrick, RB
On Senior Day in Tallahassee, senior running back Jacques Patrick ran hard for Florida State. Patrick finished with a team-high 52 yards rushing on 10 carries, which included a long run of 13 yards. Patrick also caught a pass for two yards.

Defense

Mike: Jaiden Woodbey, S
In his first taste of the FSU-Florida rivalry, Florida State freshman safety Jaiden Woodbey had a solid day. Woodbey led the Seminoles with 11 total tackles, which included 1.5 for loss and the only sack of the day for FSU. The 11 tackles is a career-high and the sack is a career-first.

Clint: Dontavious Jackson, LB
It wasn’t a day to remember for the FSU defense, but junior linebacker Dontavious Jackson played with a high motor. Jackson finished the day with five tackles, including four solo stops and a team-high tying 1.5 tackles for loss.

Special Teams

Unanimous Game Ball: Logan Tyler, P
One of the few bright spots for Florida State on Saturday was the performance of junior punter Logan Tyler. On nine punts, Tyler averaged better than 50 yards per boot, which included a long of 61 yards and one downed inside the FSU 20-yard-line. Each of Tyler’s three kickoffs went for touchbacks.
