The Daily Nole — Nov. 22, 2018: FSU Volleyball Sweeps UNC

Lead Story

Florida State volleyball completed the season sweep of North Carolina with a straight set victory on Wednesday in Chapel Hill, 25-22, 25-15, 25-23.

As usual, junior Payton Caffrey paced the Seminoles with 16 kills. Adrian Ell and Brianne Burkert combined for 39 assists while libero Kelsey Wicinski led FSU in digs with 18. Destiny Cox led the Tar Heels with 12 kills in the defeat.

With the win, FSU improves to 18-9 overall and 14-3 in conference. FSU wraps up the regular season on Friday at NC State.

Between the Lines

FSU’s volleyball victory was the only scheduled athletic contest for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU basketball will take on UAB in the AdvoCare Invitational on Thursday night. Tip is estimated sometime after 9 p.m. EST. The contest will be shown on ESPNU.

News and Notes

The winner of the contest between FSU and UAB on Thursday will face the winner of LSU and College of Charleston on Friday. The losers will also play.

FSU basketball defeated UAB in the AdvoCare Invitational on Thursday night, 81-63.
