Bowl Projections: USA TODAY Pits FSU Against FAU in Gasparilla Bowl

Win and it is in — as in, in a bowl. That’s the prospect facing Florida State this weekend as the Seminoles will look to knock off the rival Florida Gators and get bowl-eligible.

Of the multiple publications surveyed this week, only one appears confident that will happen. USA TODAY is the only national publication listed that envisions the Seminoles going bowling.

Summary
USA TODAY is the lone publication that projects FSU to a bowl game. It pits the Seminoles against Florida Atlantic in the Gasparilla Bowl on Dec. 20 in St. Petersburg.

It would be the first match-up ever between the schools. The last time that FSU faced an in-state foe in a bowl was against Miami in the Orange Bowl to cap the 2003 season.
