Lead Story
After a 4-0 start, Florida State women’s basketball hit its first road block on Sunday, falling at home to LSU, 58-45.
The Seminoles led after one quarter, but were outscored 22-0 in the second quarter and never regained the momentum. Nausia Woolfolk was the only FSU player in double-figures with 14 points. Kiah Gillespie added eight points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Seminoles in the loss.
Jaelyn Richard-Harris scored 12 points to lead the Tigers while Shanice Norton and Faustine Aifuwa each added 11. Ayana Mitchell finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for LSU. The Tigers shot nearly 49 percent from the field to just 27 percent from FSU.
With the loss, FSU falls to 4-1 on the season. FSU faces Eastern Kentucky in the Junkanoo Jam on Friday.
Between the Lines
In addition to women’s basketball, FSU soccer defeated USC on penalty kicks in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.
On the Agenda
FSU basketball will host Canisius on Monday night at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra.

FSU running back running back Cam Akers, wide receiver Tamorrion Terry, linebacker Dontavious Jackson and defensive back Stanford Samuels all earned weekly honors from the ACC.
FSU basketball moved up two spots in this week’s USA TODAY Coaches Poll.
FSU basketball easily defeated Canisius on Monday night, 93-61.
