More than a week after advancing to the NCAA Championships with strong showings in the NCAA South Regional, Florida State posed no real threat to take home a national championship at the championships in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday.

The FSU women, who claimed the South Region title last week, finished just 26th out of 31 competing teams. Senior Militsa Mircheva was the top finisher for the Seminoles at 25th overall.

The FSU men finished second at the NCAA South Regionals last week, but was last on Saturday out of 31 teams. Steven Cross, a junior, had the best day for Florida State, finishing in 176th place.

Northern Arizona took home the men’s team national championship, finishing ahead of BYU, Portland, Colorado and Stanford. Morgan McDonald, a Wisconsin senior, claimed the individual national title.

On the women’s side, Colorado claimed the distinction of national champions. The Buffaloes held off New Mexico, Oregon, Michigan and Stanford. Winning the individual national championship was Colorado senior Dani Jones.
