Lead Story

Guard Nausia Woolfolk led the way for the Seminoles on Thursday night with 17 points as the Florida State women blew past the Jacksonville Dolphins, 79-46.

Woolfolk hit a career-high five 3-point shots and recorded four rebounds with four assists to go along with it. Forward Valencia Myers rattled off 14 points and came down with a team-high eight rebounds, while forward Kiah Gillespie added 14 points with six rebounds of her own.

Florida State out-rebounded Jacksonville 40-28 and held the Dolphins to just 34 percent shooting. Meanwhile, the Seminoles shot over 46 percent from the field and 44 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Florida State is now 4-0 and will look to move to 5-0 on Sunday afternoon. The LSU Tigers come to the Tucker Center at 2 p.m. EST for the final contest of a 5-game home stretch.

Between the Lines

Florida State swimming and diving teams competed in the Georgia Tech Invite on Thursday. The 19th ranked men’s team finished in second place, while the 22nd ranked women’s team is tied for fourth place. The meet extends through Friday.

On the Agenda

In addition to the Georgia Tech invite, FSU soccer plays its second round match of the NCAA Tournament on Friday. The Seminoles will face off against the South Florida Bulls at 6 p.m. EST on ESPN3. That game is in Tallahassee.

FSU volleyball awaits a pivotal ACC match-up with the No. 10 Pittsburgh Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The winner will be the de facto favorite to take home the conference title.

News and Notes

Three 5-star recruits will be in Tallahassee for the Boston College game. Wide receiver Jadon Haselwood, offensive tackle Evan Neal, and running back Trey Sanders are all slated to take their official visits.

FSU soccer defeated South Florida on Friday night, 3-1, to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
